Hi there, I’m Charmecia
I’m the founder and counselor here at Charmed Wellness. My name comes from a wish my parents had that I’d bring luck to all who crossed paths with me. I work to create an experience where the people I care for feel fortunate to have found me. I’m a curious & creative explorer. I’ve always been inspired by trying to answer big questions through connection & collaboration. Because of this spark of interest, science was one of my first best friends. If you traveled back in time to meet little me, I might show you the frog I captured in my mini terrarium or what pill bugs look like under my microscope. My love of building connection with people and sharing the wonders of science led me to psychology. I’ve often said that psychology felt like an opportunity to explore some of the last uncharted territories of the natural world.
In my career so far, I’ve taught relational health classes in high schools, cared for youth in foster care, seen university students through making the leap to college, and supported families in crisis in residential treatment centers. In all this time of exploration, I’ve often thought “I wish I could give these travelers through life a magic elixir to aid them in their journey.” Counseling feels like that magic. How else could I describe major transformation initiated by key words and ingredients sourced from ourselves and our environments? In working with my clients, I value neuroscience, genuineness, and authenticity. I’ll show up in all my fullness so they can feel comfortable doing the same. You can expect me to serve as a“magic mirror”; showing you a different view of yourself, and reflecting suggestions and thoughtful observations to assist you with your goals. I’m nerdy, goofy, vibrant, and playful. If you’re in need of a fellow explorer, perhaps I’m the one for you.
